After finally getting things to work out with a babysitter (which is hard to find someone available the Monday after Thanksgiving), we headed out. The original plan was to grab something to eat on our way to the show, then get there with plenty of time to park and find our seats.
It just so happened that of all nights, it decided to start snowing. It didn't seem too bad at first, but it just got worse. Soon traffic was a nightmare and our dinner plans turned into a quick drive-through right off the freeway.
On a normal night it would only take us about 40 minutes to get to the concert, but the crazy snowstorm made it take us 3 HOURS to get there! We passed accidents and several cars that just could not make it up hills. When we finally got there, parked, and ran in, we had missed all three opening acts. At least we made it (only a few minutes) before Carrie Underwood took the stage. As expected, she gave a great show, and we were glad we got to see it.
