11 Months and a Few Happenings

I can't believe Madilyn is already 11 months! She is growing so fast. Our little girl now crawls full speed and even got brave and attempted to climb the stairs, which is now her favorite thing to do. She thinks it is hilarious to play peek-a-boo and will dive onto the floor giggling every time. She has started pulling herself to her feet, but is still working on the whole balance thing. Poor girl keeps falling down and getting little bruises on her head. Madilyn has learned to fold her arms when we tell her we are going to say prayer. She just keeps surprising us with how much she learns and figures out each day!

A few weeks ago we went to "Farm Country" up at Thanksgiving point. It was a lot of fun (other than the farm smell!) Madilyn really liked looking at all the animals, but was not about to touch any!

She loved the horse pulled wagon ride!

This baby goat was so cute, but, as you can see, she was freaked out!

I laughed a little too much at this sign!

We Celebrated Madilyn's first Fourth of July. She thought the fireworks were really cool and could not look away, but at the same time she was so scared and clinging to my shirt. We did not even have to leave our house to see the fireworks. Our neighbors (pretty much the whole neighborhood) put on quite the show! Every direction we looked were colors exploding into the air. Very different from Colorado.

July 7th was Lucas's Birthday! We celebrated by going to Cafe Rio for lunch, then to the Bean Life Science Museum. We had a lot of fun looking at all the exhibits. We went to dinner at Tucanos Brazilian Grill and came home for cake.

10 Months

This little girl is growing way too fast! On Fathers' Day she turned 10 months old. She is learning and growing so much every day. Madilyn loves to clap her hands and sing songs. She crawls, and has even started pulling herself up onto her knees and feet (yes, we finally had to lower her crib mattress). Madilyn has overcome her fear of the grass and her fear of the vacuum. She has become somewhat of a daredevil and tries to climb over the edge of her changing table. Madilyn love to do video calls with family. She always tries to hug the tablet or computer to give loves to whoever we are talking to.
We took her swimming for the first time and she loved it! She splashes a lot and kicks her legs. She even jumped out of Daddy's arms and went face first into the water (there's the daredevil again, but don't worry, it was only for a few seconds).
She loves going to Costco because, let's face it, who doesn't? She loves trying the samples and gets angry if it is something we decide not to share with her. This makes Costco a whole new experience for us and it will never be the same! We went to Cabella's one afternoon and looked at all the animal displays and the aquarium. Madilyn really loved seeing everything.

9 Months

The little cutie is now 9 months. Holy cow! She has become very talkative and loves to make noise. She loves getting her diaper changed at church because she discovered the bathroom makes her voice echo! Madilyn is a very sweet girl who gives very good snuggles. She enjoys tasting anything that Mommy and Daddy will let her taste (especially when Daddy gives her sugar!) After having teething symptoms for a while, she finally has 2 little teeth that have cut through on the bottom. We spent a weekend in Colorado and Madilyn had fun making a new noise that Grandpa taught her. When we got back she was making the noise over and over again. She was in the middle of making the noise and stopped and said "Ga-pa!" We have enjoyed spending time outside in the beautiful weather. Mommy and Daddy finally got her a new cherry blossom tree painted for her new room! She loves it! :)

We also celebrated Madilyn's first Easter. She was more interested in the basket the Easter Bunny brought her than what was in it! Madilyn wore her Easter dress to church. For dinner we had Great Grandma, Aunt Brooke, Uncle Greg, Cousin June, and Mommy's cousin Whitney, her husband Brackston, and their baby Mason all come over. It was fun!

Catching Up: 7 Months, 8 Months, and the Move

Well, time has gotten away from me once again! In March Madilyn turned 7 Months, and now she just turned 8 months! She is getting so big and developing the cutest personality! She loves to laugh and talk. Mostly she says "Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba", but she also can say "Mama" and "Dada". She loves going on walks in her stroller as we explore our new neighborhood. She is adjusting to our new home, but really misses her cherry blossom tree from her old room (We are working on painting her a new one!) Madilyn loves trying new foods and thinks it is so cool when she gets to put her cereal puffs in her mouth all by herself. She is still working on crawling (getting close), but she discovered that she can travel across the room by rolling over and over. She loves playing with toys and story time.

Our big move went smoothly and we are enjoying exploring our new town. We have so many friendly new neighbors, but do miss our friends back in Colorado. We have a few weeks until Lucas starts school and are really excited for this new adventure!

6 Months and Big Changes

On February 15th Madilyn turned 6 months. I can't believe she is already half a year old! She brings so much joy to our lives! She is now sitting up by her self and rolling over. What a big girl! She loves to play with toys and we love to watch her discover. We have entered the dreaded teething stage and feel so sad for her when her mouth hurts. We love this cute girl so much!

Our family has some big changes coming up. We are moving to Spanish Fork, UT. Lucas is going to pursue a computer science degree at UVU. We are really going to miss Thornton, but we are excited for this next chapter in our lives!

5 Months

Madilyn in now 5 months old and her cute little personality is shining through! She has discovered that she can grab her feet and that they are fun to suck on! They must taste good, because she really goes to town on them! She is learning and growing so much. It is so fun to watch her play with toys and discover the world around her. She loves to spit and make loud dinosaur noises (not sure where that came from, but it is pretty funny). We are working on sitting up and rolling (she almost has it!) So far she has tried rice cereal, peaches, and apples and loved them all! Madilyn is such a happy baby who loves to laugh!

I could not get her to stop eating her dress!!

She had so much fun over Christmas when her cousin, June, came to visit. They were so cute holding hands and talking to each other.

We also did some family pictures on New Years. They aren't professional, and there are shadows all over, but at least we have them!
