6 Months and a Fun Filled Summer!

Our little man is now 6 months old! He has really taken off with crawling and refuses to stay in one place. He is now 17lbs, 10oz and growing like a weed! Tyson loves his sister so much! he will just watch her and whatever she is doing like it is the most interesting thing ever. He is at that stage where everything goes into his mouth, especially any tags on blankets or stuffed animals. Tyson has started trying baby food. He loves it and will grab my hand to get the spoon into his mouth faster!

Madilyn has started to come out of her shell a little. Well, she is still very shy, but she doesn't take nearly as long to warm up to people as she used to. She loves to color, dance, and play with her brother. Madilyn loves dresses! Even when I ask her what pajamas she wants to wear she responds, "Dress!" I guess we should get her a nightgown!

Lately she always walks with her hand on her hip!

She found an envelope and decided to make it into a hat.

Our home has felt like "Hotel Fannin" this summer. First, Kristen and Ally stayed a couple nights with us. Then, a week after they left my parents stayed the week with us. As soon as they left, the whole Wastart family stayed for over a week! We even got a visit from my aunt from Oregon.  A week later Jenn stayed the night with us. We love having visitors!

In June we went to the Chalk Art Festival at the Gateway. Lucas and I went to one in Denver when we were dating and it was better, but this was still cool to see!

When we lived in Thornton we had a sister missionary in our area who we just loved! She finished her mission and came out to Utah for school. We were lucky enough to have her and her fiancé over for dinner!

The kids and I got to go to the park with some of my old college friends and their kids. Madilyn kind of did her own thing instead of hanging out with the other kids.

We got the chance to go see the Candy Bomber! It was so hot out and we melted waiting, but it was really cool to see!

Kristen and Ally were here for the 4th of July. Our neighborhood goes crazy with fireworks so we got to watch several shows from our driveway.

W celebrated Lucas's 33rd birthday! I made him a Peanut Butter Pie. It was so good, but sooo rich! We went to dinner at the Texas Roadhouse and I made Lucas get on the birthday saddle.

Squishy Face!

When my parents were here we had fun playing at the Payson pool!

When the Wastarts were here we went bowling at the Provo Beach Resort. It was Madilyn's first time and she loved it! Ally (who is 2) even beat Kristen and I. (Yes, she had bumpers and a ramp, but still...)

5 Months, Family Fun, and Disneyland Trip

On the 15th our little man turned 5 months old! He loves to play with toys and is starting to crawl. He manages to get up on his hands and knees, but only rocks back and forth. He can still get around the room, though. He digs his toes into the ground and pushes forward. He is one determined little guy! He is growing like a weed and so much fun! Tyson went in the swimming pool for the first time when we were in California and thought it was pretty cool. He loves his sister and especially loves when she plays with him. His little laugh is contagious and we often wonder how we got so blessed with 2 amazing kiddos!

We have been having "Fannin Family Fun Day" on Saturdays. We decided that it is time we take advantage of the area for the time we live here. We start out our Saturdays with a walk/jog on the Spanish Fork River trails in the morning before it gets scorching hot! (We just had the HOTTEST June on record! I'm ready for Fall!) A few weeks back we went to the Living Planet Aquarium. Madilyn was a little scared when we first got there, but quickly learned to love it! She loved seeing the fish and birds. She would get so excited and point to the fish and talk to us about them in her adorable little Madilyn language.

We took a long drive to California to go to Disneyland! We met my parents there and played in the parks for 3 days. Lucas and I had not been back since our Honeymoon, so it brought back a lot of memories and was a lot of fun to reminisce!

The first day there Madilyn wasn't sure about the rides. She would get a little scared and cling to us. By the second and third days she loved it! We would get off a ride and she would look at us and say, "Again!?" It's a good thing the Little Mermaid ride never has a long line because we went on that one quite a few times. She also loved the Tiki Room! I was excited to go to Cars Land because they were still building it the last time we were there.

Madilyn is a little obsessed with Minnie and Mickey Mouse, so it was a dream come true for her to meet them! On our last day we say Mickey a second time as he was walking through the park. Madilyn got excited and waved and he stopped and walked over to her, gave her five, and pat her head. That made her day! She felt like the most special girl there! We enjoyed ending each night by watching the fireworks from right outside our hotel room.

Madilyn is growing into a beautiful little girl. She is now 22 months. It is crazy that I look at her now and she is no longer my baby, but a little person! She is like a sponge! She learns so much each day and has sadly picked up on some bad behaviors from the kids in the nursery at church. (No, Madilyn, it is not OK to hit your brother!) She has been learning more and more words and started saying some sentences. He favorite sentence (and perhaps her first) is "I want juice!" Even though she only gets juice every once in a while, she feels the need to ask for it several times a day, every day! She is still very helpful with Tyson and loves him lots!

4 Months Old

It is sad how time just seems to go faster and faster. I wish it would slow down so I could cherish these moments with me babies for a little longer.

On May 15th Tyson turned 4 months. He can now roll over both ways! Tyson loves to smile and have conversations. He loves practicing making noises by buzzing his lips and kind of making fart noises with his mouth. He will even be in the middle of eating and stop to practice his noises.

This little guy also loves to kick! It is so hard to swaddle him with out him busting out. He has never liked his arms swaddled, so I always leave them out. Even when I think I have him swaddled really well, he usually breaks free. Sometimes he will wake up in the middle of the night and not make any noise except the thud of him lifting his feet in the air and dropping them back down! He does this until his blankets are off and he gets pretty proud of himself. The only downside is that after a while he will start to whine because he is cold now. Silly boy! We sure do love him and his cute little personality he is developing!

Just like his sister, this little man loves music! He even tries to sing along when we sing songs!

3 Months

Our sweet Tyson turned 3 months old on April 15th. He is seriously the happiest baby I have ever seen. He loves to smile and laugh! He also thinks it is so funny when I change his clothes. Madilyn always hated having her clothes or diaper changed, and still does. Tyson, however, seems to think it's the greatest thing! Just like Madilyn, he hated his bath at first. Now he gets so happy and smiles and laughs through the whole thing. Unlike Madilyn, he hates having a dirty diaper and will let us know that he wants a clean one. 6 days after he turned 3 months, he rolled over for the first time. He does such a great job at tummy time and loves to kick.

We were able to spend some time in Colorado during Lucas's spring break. It was so great to see friends and family and we were able to have Tyson's baby blessing while we were there.

Madilyn loved Easter this year, now that she can actually hunt for eggs. We went to the Spanish Fork Egg Hunt and she had fun! We only got 3 eggs because all the parents were grabbing them for their kids while I was trying to let Madilyn do it, but oh well! She thought it was the greatest thing ever finding the eggs the Easter Bunny left at our house Easter morning. She was so excited when she opened up her eggs to find goldfish, teddy grahams, and M&Ms that she was shaking! The Easter Bunny also brought her a coloring book and a beach towel for the pool this summer. He brought Tyson a new outfit. Madilyn is obsessed with bubbles and cheese and has discovered how thrilling it is to go down a slide!

My 30th Birthday Surprise and 2 Month Boy

I have always thought it would be cool to have a surprise party, but I never thought I would get one. Little did I know, my husband had been planning one with my aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandma. I had NO idea, and the way it played out actually left me feeling stupid, but I did love the surprise!

The day before my birthday I had planned a family activity for us. We went and got some lunch at Zupas and then went to the art museum at BYU. We were on our way home when I saw my uncle's car on the freeway. They had seen us and thought they had blown the surprise, but really guys, I am not that smart! I just assumed they had some place to go down in our area. Lucas had ordered pizza to the house and it was supposed to get there well before us. Well, it didn't, and this is the part that really made me feel stupid! As we pulled up to the house there was a pizza delivery guy walking away from our door. I asked him who ordered pizza and he responded that the people who lived here did. I responded that we lived here and asked again who had ordered. He said the parents of the people who lived here ordered. I was getting frustrated and again told him that that would be US! Panic started to set in a little as I was wondering who was in my house. Who would do that? Who goes into someone else's house while they are gone and orders pizza? I think the pizza guy had seen the decorations and kind of knew what was going on, because he said, "If it helps, they were really nice people!" I am sorry to the poor pizza guy for freaking out on you! Please don't tell everyone you met a crazy lady today!

Lucas was doing an awesome job of playing along. He was acting upset that someone was in our house and convinced me to go inside with him to see what was going on. As we walked in, I was surprised by family! How did I not put the pieces together?? I mean, hello! I was turning 30 the next day!! I felt pretty dumb! Lucas was upset that the surprise had been ruined. Really, honey? I would say he pulled it off perfectly! I didn't have a clue it was happening! Thank you Lucas for putting so much into giving me a surprise party. It made me feel special! Trust me, I WAS surprised!

A week later, my little man turned 2 months old! He is such a happy baby! He loves to smile and laugh and try to talk to us! He is pretty much sleeping through the night consistently now and is growing like a weed! At his 2 month check-up he was in the 75th percentile for everything! He is wearing the size of clothes that Madilyn wore at 4 months. Tyson bring us so much joy and we are so blessed to have him!

And we can't forget to mention Miss Madilyn! She is learning like crazy! She can say so many words now. (Here's the part where I list words she can say and you skim over and don't read, but I am listing anyway for my own records!) She can say: please, thank you, love you, night, bubbles, ouch, uh oh, cracker, cheese, juice, shoes, hi, bye, baby, grandma, grandpa, diaper, up, down, purple, blue, green, hand, arm, eye, toes, no, yes, mouse, pretty, dad, mom, okay, yummy, bib, light

Madilyn loves to read books, color, go for walks, wash her hands, and help with Tyson. She loves to share and places toys all around Tyson while he is napping! She is practicing colors and the A B C's. She is also practicing saying prayers.

Lucas also went to Arizona for a golf trip with his dad, brother, and friends. We sure missed him, and are glad to have him back. After a hotel mix-up, he ended up at a motel that looked like the stuff horror movies are made of. It was seriously nasty! He would send us pictures and we would pray he didn't get some disease or attacked! At least he has a story to tell now! He brought Madilyn a little monkey that says "Phoenix" on it. She grabbed it and slept with it in her arms the whole night. It was so cute!
