Pumpkins!!

The kids were so excited for our annual trip to the pumpkin patch!! Now that they are a little older, they had even more fun than last time! We played in the corn pit, played in the hay maze, and climbed the hay tower! We even looked at the (stinky) animals! We found some pretty good pumpkins and were happy to bring them home!

I sat with the kids at the computer and let them pick what they wanted on their pumpkins. They helped scoop out the guts and watched as Lucas and I carved. Our final product ended up being a hit with the trick-or-treaters!!

We were a family of pirates this year! The kids had a lot of fun trick-or-treating and Madilyn really got the concept of it this year! She had even more fun passing out candy though!!

Our Anniversary Weekend

This year was Lucas's turn to plan our Anniversary. He told me to pack an over-night bag and to be ready to go. In the morning he brought us home Kneaders french toast for breakfast! It was delicious, as always! We packed up and headed out. We went into the mountains and ended up in Park City. We went ahead and made it a family weekend by bringing the kids along since we don't have their grandparents around to watch them overnight. Lucas booked us a room at the Park City Mountainside Resort. It was so nice and very family friendly! Our room was more like a condo and had a view of the alpine slide and coaster.

We enjoyed walking around Main Street and exploring all the little shops. We had dinner reservations at the Wild Horse and had no idea what a fancy restaurant it really was. It was delicious, by the way!

When we returned to the resort we went for a night swim. The pool area was amazing! They had pretty lights all over and there were at least 5 different hot tubs with waterfalls and color-changing lights in the water.

The next morning we went to get brunch at a place called Squatters and headed home. We took a scenic drive on the way home to see all the fall leaves. It was beautiful!

A Ballerina's Beginning

Madilyn loves to dance! She will watch Dancing With the Stars with me and dance along in front of the TV. Although she has declared to me many times that she simply cannot dance in pants, she must have a skirt or dress! Now that she is old enough, I signed her up for a dance class. She LOVED it! She thinks it is so fun to wear her pretty dance clothes and learn moves to the music. Her teacher used all Disney music, which made it even better! It was only a 6 week class and she has been begging me to find another class ever since it ended. She has a new one starting next month!

Madilyn Turns 3

She is growing up way too fast!! On August 15th Madilyn turned 3! She Was so excited to celebrate! We told her she could pick anywhere she wanted for us to go to dinner. She chose the Olive Garden. After enjoying her plate of spaghetti, they brought out a yummy dessert and sang to her. She thought that was the coolest thing!

How have we never had these before? SO GOOD!
Earlier in the day we took her to the store and she picked out a Rapunzel dress and Rapunzel shoes. She wore them all day and would have never taken them off is we didn't make her.

Madilyn wanted to have a Rapunzel birthday party (shocking, right?)
I designed her invitations and she helped me deliver them. I made cupcakes and decorated them like a long braid.  I put yellow streamers all around to look like Rapunzel's hair everywhere. I even made lanterns with the sun symbol to hang, but then completely forgot to hang them up and found them after the party was over. (Mom fail!) We had a BBQ with some of her friends and their families.

Tangled up in Rapunzel's hair!!

Our Annual Fannin-Wastart Week!

Ever since we moved to Utah the Wastarts have come to visit us for a week every July. It is our favorite week of the year! We try to pack in as much fun as we can and it always feels too short. This year we got to meet their cute little baby, Emma!
The kids had so much fun playing together and were so cute to watch! As usual, we went to the Spanish Fork Fiesta Days Carnival and HAD to ride the zipper! This was the first year that neither Kristen or I were pregnant, so all the adults got to ride! The girls had fun on some of the kiddie rides!

This year we decided to go to the Kid Activity day at Fiesta Days. It was really fun! They had all kinds of activities and games for the kids to do and it was all FREE!! They had a blast! I think we will have to do this again next year!

The kids got to decorate visors.

Of course she picked the princess one!

Check out my Tat!

Getting her nails painted by "a princess!" (Spanish Fork royalty)

She was lucky enough to be in the last group that got to go in the bounce castle. She loved it!

We decided to finally venture out to the Hogle Zoo! The kids loved seeing all the different animals, as long as they weren't too close! :)
Madi loves giraffes so we had to see them first!!

This elephant sprays water out of his trunk!

We went swimming at the Provo pool this year and had so much fun! The kids loved going on the big slides with us!

After swimming we went to the Provo Food Truck Round up. It was so fun and yummy! I think we will have to go more often.

She got the Minnie Mouse sunglasses from Grandma and knows how to rock them!

We also had a picnic at Canton View Park. We were joined by some geese who would NOT leave us alone!!

As always, the week went way too fast and we are already looking forward to next time!!
